Our 100% recycled-plastic products are built to last

Sustainability

Our heritage products and boats are manufactured from plastic lumber that is produced from 100% used plastics collected by communities and other local organisations from around the archipelago.

Durability

We have been researching and developing our plastic lumber production processes since we built Flipflopi Ndogo in 2016 - so our products are now highly durable, and built to last

Heritage

Lamu is one of the oldest and best-preserved Swahili settlements in East Africa, well-known for its diverse heritage, intricately crafted furniture and the home of the “dhow”. Preserving this local and maritime heritage is at the heart of what we sought to do using traditional techniques to showcase indigenous craftsmanship paired with modern innovation.
