Meet Flipflopi Ndogo...

In June when we first realized how difficult the engineering was – head boat builder Ali decided that it would be a good idea to test the recycled plastic building materials on a smaller dhow first. 

So for the past 10 weeks Ali and his team have been building Flipflopi Dogo...the younger sister to the expedition boat. We have learned a great deal from this and now even more convinced that our 60ft dhow can be built and will sail from Lamu to Cape Town!
