Making a full systems impact: 2023 Annual Impact Report

Our annual impact report is here!

What a year it’s been! From reaching a record number of communities at their doorstep, collecting 149,000kg+ plastics in 12 months and creating over 40 new products, including the first traditional recycled Swahili throne we gifted to King Charles and another traditional dhow boat, our operations have grown exponentially! 

Our report dives into our full systems impact looking at how we're protecting the heritage of Lamu through our training centre, forming new partnerships through which we are restoring nature in Siyu village, and influencing policy change by gaining endorsement on the SUP draft bill from 21 members of our parliament from 7 EAC countries

Having a team of 40% women, so much of our impact is spearheaded by women. And in an ode to thank the women driving our impact, what better day to launch our 2023 impact report than on International Women’s Day?

Our goal, to embed plastic into a circular economy while protecting our heritage, with the backing and help of our partners, donors, supporters, and you, has again continued to

expand and have a demonstrated positive impact.
